Iran bags 37 medals so far in Baku Games

Until the 6th day of the event, Iranian athletes received 10 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze medals in various fields such as weightlifting, shooting, track and field, taekwondo and disabled track and field.

In weightlifting, Ayoub Mousavi in the weight category of 94 kg received a gold medal.

Iranian female shooter Golnoush Sebqatollahi in ten-meter air pistol and Pourian Norouzian in 50-meter rifle three positions bagged two gold medals.

In discus throw, Ehsan Haddadi snatched a silver medal and in shot put Javid Ehsani and Javad Dalakeh received silver and bronze medals respectively.

In F56 class of shot put, Iranian representatives Alireza Qale Naseri and Mohammad Yari received silver and bronze medals respectively.

Iranian female taekwondoka Nahid Kiani in minus 53kg weight category ranked first and Fatemeh Maddahi in minus 46 kg and Tayebeh Parsa in minus 57 kg categories bagged bronze medals.

In men’s section final match, Iranian taekwondo fighter Mahdi Eshaqi in weight category of minus 54 kg ranked first and received a gold medal.

The 4th round of Islamic Solidarity Games are underway with the attendance of 54 countries in 22 sports fields. The games run until May 22 in the capital city of Azerbaijan.

Iranian squad consisting of 280 members has participated in 20 fields.
