President Rouhani, Qatari Emir discuss bilateral ties over phone

He underlined that sectarianism is a big pestilence, which makes security unstable in the region.

Rouhani underlined necessity for cooperation among countries of the region to establish peace, tranquility and added that the fasting month of Ramadan is a time to strengthen brotherhood among Muslims.

The president said that Iran believes in expansion of relations with neighboring states, especially brother state of Qatar and as a principle of our foreign policy, we believe by firm intention of both sides existing obstacles could be removed.

He said that security and stability of the countries in the region have tied up to each other and takes affect from each other.

Rouhani added that 'we want dominance of an atmosphere of justice, moderation and wisdom in our mutual relations' between countries and we believe political mechanisms should be in priority.

He stressed that countries of the region need more consultations to settle and control regional crises and Iran is ready to cooperate in this field.

President Rouhani said that sectarianism is among big pestilences, which makes regional security unstable, while Iran wants the Islamic world, which is suffering from rifts, to take steps towards brotherhood and in this direction Iran is ready to hold talks with the aim to reach real agreement.

He pointed to the issue of terrorism in the region and said that our region is witnessing a great problem named terrorism, which may endanger our security and way to confront it is cooperation among these nations.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani congratulated re-election of President Rouhani as well as the occasion of fasting month of Ramadan and underlined that bilateral relations between Qatar and Iran is old, historical and consolidated and Qatar wants to strengthen the ties more than past.

The Emir said that Qatar believes there is no obstacle in the way of development of relations between the two countries.

He pointed to some problems in the region and underlined that undoubtedly holding talks and negotiation is the sole way to remove problems and talks process, which Kuwait on behalf of other southern littoral states of the Persian Gulf, had started should be continued.

Emir of Qatar also said that he will order all related organizations and administrative bodies in Qatar to increase their efforts to expand relations between Tehran and Doha.
