Iran’s envoy meets with minister of communication of Ivory Coast

Pointing to the history of political and diplomatic relations between Iran and the Ivory Coast, Shakib-Mehr described as positive a recent visit to Iran by Director of Ivory Coast official News Agency (AIP) Ms. Oumou Barry Sana that took place in mid January leading to signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for media cooperation between the two countries.

The MoU was inked when AIP chief met her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Khodadi at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Tehran.

Given Iran’s progresses in different fields of technical, engineering, medical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas activities, the ambassador pointed to plenty of potentials existed in the two countries to develop bilateral relations in the field of communication and information technology.

Shakib-Mehr voiced Tehran's readiness to share its experiences and indigenous knowledge with Ivory Coast in the field of information technology.

The Iranian ambassador also invited the Ivory Coast minister to pay a visit to Iran.

Meanwhile, the minister hailed Iran’s progresses in the past years despite unfair sanctions imposed on the country.

Noting that Iran had made noticeable achievements in the field of sciences and technologies, Nabagne Kone welcomed every measure to promote bilateral relations with Iran.

He said that holding the second meeting of the joint economic commission of the two countries in a near future is a turning point in promotion of bilateral ties.

The minister also hoped that he will be able to pay a visit to Iran soon.
