
Referring to the history of friendly relations between Iran and Brazil, Saqqaeian underlined necessity to use appropriate international atmosphere created following the implementation of the landmark nuclear agreement between Iran and the world six major powers, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The historic deal was signed in July 2015 between Iran and members of the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, Britain, China and France plus Germany). It was later officially implemented on 16 January 2016, ending over a decade of nuclear dispute between the two sides.
The Iranian new ambassador said that promotion of Iran-Brazil economic ties is one of the priorities of his mission. He expressed hope that considering capacities and capabilities of the two countries in different fields such as science and advanced technologies including nano-technology and bio-technology, the two capitals can develop and promote their economic, trade and industrial relations.
Meanwhile, Marcos Galvao said that promotion of bilateral relations with Iran is one of the priorities of Brazil's foreign policy. He added that Brasilia is completely ready to develop ties with Iran in different fields.
Referring to the 4th joint economic commission meeting of Iran and Brazil which was held in Brasilia in November, Galvao said that the government of Brazil is optimistic about investment of the country's private sector in other countries.
He added that Brasilia was willing to promote its relations with Tehran in the fields of economic, trade, banking and financial activities.
