To Iranian Zoroastrians, Fravahar is the guiding spirit of human beings assigned by God.
From the morning of the 19th of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian calendar year, Zoroastrians from different neighborhoods and villages head to the graves of their beloved ones and recite their holy book, Avesta.
Tablecloths are spread to pay respect and homage to the departed in special rooms allocated for this purpose.
Feeling the absence of their beloved ones, the families pray for the happiness of departed souls.
