Trump: US forces prepared to conduct more operations in Syria as necessary

'I acted in the vital national security and foreign policy interests of the United States, pursuant to my constitutional authority to conduct foreign relations and as Commander in Chief and Chief Executive,' The Hill News websites quoted Trump as saying.

'The United States will take additional action, as necessary and appropriate, to further its important national interests.”

According to the Hill, under the War Powers Resolution, the president is required to submit an explanation for the use of force within 48 hours after military action is taken. The deadline for Trump to do so would be Saturday night.

“It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons,” Trump said.

US’ first aggression on Syrian Army’s positions under Donald Trump began on Friday morning by launching 59 missiles at Shayrat Airfield in Homs province.

According to foreign media reports, two US warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired 59 Tomahawk missiles intended for a single target - Shayrat Airfield in Homs province in western Syria, the US Defense Department said.

The missile attack was carried out without permission from UN Security Council and the US Congress.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in his April 7 twitter message noted that “US aids Saddam’s use of CW against Iran in 80’s; then resorts to military force over bogus CW allegations: 1st in 2003 and now in Syria,”

The U.S was one of the major arms suppliers to Saddam’s regime during Iraq’s imposed war against Iran (1980-1988) and the use of chemical weapons by the last Iraqi dictator is enough to prove the allegation against Syrian government false, since if using chemical weapons had truly been considered as crossing “the red line”, then we would have seen the launching of these 59 missiles to Iraq in the 80’s as well.

This is while; Trump had criticized Barak Obama’s government for intervening in Syria.

Syrian Army is fighting against Daesh in Eastern Homs and also against Al-Nusra Front in North.
