Head of the Iranian Olympic Committee, Seyyed Raza Salehi Amiri discussed the increase in sports cooperation between Tehran and Zagreb on Sunday in Zagreb, Croatia in a meeting with his counterpart Zlatko Mateša.

Salehi also explains the importance of sports in Iran, 'Iran is considered one of the major powers in some sports fields in Asia and the world, so the country's new sports strategy is being developed according to the interest of Iran's 82 million people.'

The head of the Croatian Olympic Committee then told his Iranian counterpart that Croatian trainers and athletes have progressed very well in recent years and are known at the world level. 'Reaching the World Cup final and winning the second place in the Cup, is representing our efforts and plans in the field of sport.'
