In his interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the Yemeni analyst, however, believes that it cannot be said with certainty the agreement will reach a positive outcome and must see how far the invading sides (Saudi Arabia and the UAE)adhere to their obligations.
Rizq stressed that the termination of war depends on the extent of the commitment of the invading countries. The signs seem not to be positive. The tension on the West Coast increased two days after the talks and the bombing of al-hudaydah continued. Some parties within the invading countries are not satisfied with the negotiating option. So we have to wait and see where the experience and test of the negotiations will lead.
The Yemeni expert on the results of the Swedish talks said, 'What was done in Sweden were some understandings that everyone was waiting to implement on the ground. But the Saudi - UAE reaction was contrary to the agreement. The attacks and bombings that kill civilians have continued. If the war against Yemen does not go to a cease-fire, that means failure and the political solution will reach a stalemate and the next round of negotiations will be stopped in January too.'
