Zarif: Terrorism not representing race, religion

'Quick to insult Islam but hesitant to condemn racist terror at home,' Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote on his Twitter account just hours after President Donald Trump attributed terrorism to Islam.

After Spain terrorist attacks that left 14 people killed and 100 injured, Trump tweeted on Friday that 'Radical Islamic Terrorism must be stopped by whatever means necessary!', attempting to resort to the terrorist attacks to justify his orders to ban visa to citizens of six major Muslim countries, including Iran.

The controversial order has prompted furious condemnations, with critics accusing Trump of racism and extremism.

Even Virginia, one of the US states with the most long-lasting histories of racism and discrimination against the black, has been the scene of rallies against racism in recent days.

'Terror in name of race or religion is plain terror & represents neither,' Zarif added in his tweet.
