Zaif: Iran, France keen on expanding relations

Zarif made the remarks upon his arrival in Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on Thursday.

Since the reelection of President Hassan Rouhani, the presidents of two countries have held several telephone conversations which is unprecedented during this short period of time, he added.

This is an indication of Iran-France cordial relations which would pave the way for expansion of relations between the two countries, Zarif added.

He described France as Iran’s close economic partner after historic nuclear deal clinched between Iran and Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany).

Zarif said he will discuss key regional and international issues during his meetings with the France's top officials.

He added Iran and France enjoy close views on several regional issues, the Persian Gulf security in particular.

Zarif reiterated that the two countries believe that negotiations is the best way to settle the existing problems.
