IRNA chief: Deepening media ties helps boost all-out cooperation

“The background of communications between IRNA and Xinhua news agencies dates back to a long time ago, but the current circumstances necessitates such relations to prevail and continue in the future,” Khoddadi said.

The managing director of Iran also called for holding more serious talks on mutual cooperation.

Khoddadi pointed to the special and sensitive situation in the world, especially in the Middle East and Asia, and said, “IRNA and Xinhua as two official media of Iran and China should play their professional role well in the expansion of peace and stability in the international arena.”

Khoddadi invited his Chinese counterpart to visit Iran, and said that IRNA is willing to expand its cooperation with Xinhua in the fields of updating cooperation outlines, joint work in the fields of social networks and holding training courses on the basis of which updating of the younger generation journalists will become possible.

The Xinhua president, for his part, voiced his pleasure in expanding cooperation with IRNA, and said, “Xinhua is ready to boost cultural exchanges with IRNA.

Khoddadi travelled to Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese government to take part in the second non-governmental forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) which opened in China’s capital on Wednesday.
