World political leaders, politicians condemn Tehran terror attacks

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a message addressed to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and government over the terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital, and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.

He said such assaults necessitate the need for the expansion of international cooperation to fight terrorism.

“Moscow strongly condemns the attacks, and is prepared to cooperate with Tehran in the fight against terror,” the Russian leader added.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed his sympathy over Tehran terrorist attacks and condemned the acts.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Lavrov and Zarif in their contact considered regional developments as well.

Lavrov also stated that terrorist attacks on the Iranian parliament and the Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum in Tehran show terrorists continue their acts without respite.

Russia is ready to take all necessary measures to contain terrorists, he said in a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart Alfonso Dastis.

The Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry strongly condemned on Wednesday the terror attacks committed in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

The Syrian ministry expressed voiced solidarity with the Iranian leadership as well as the country's people, and expressed condolences to families of victims of the attack.

'Terrorist attacks backed by well-known countries and circles will not discourage Syria and Iran from continuing their fight against terrorism that is supported by countries and parties known in the region and beyond,' the statement said.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun cabled his Iranian counterpart President Hassan Rouhani, expressing condolences for the victims fallen during the terrorist attacks that targeted the Iranian parliament and the shrine of Imam Khomeini.

President Aoun condemned the attacks which left behind dead and wounded, saying 'they prove that terrorism has no religion, and that it strikes with no humane or religious restrictions whatsoever.'

The Lebanese President conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's Hezbollah movement condemned on Wednesday the dual terror attacks that targeted the Iranian parliament and the shrine of late Imam Khomeini, in the Iranian capital.

'This dual crime attempts to meddle with the security and stability of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to impact its firm resolution to stand by the resistance movements in the region and its position as a strong fortress in the face of hegemony, arrogance and terrorism,' Hezbollah said in a statement.

Hezbollah considered 'the crimes carried out by the terrorists in our region and the world are the product of an international destructive scheme that is funded, protected and backed by the well-known regional leaderships.'

Lebanon's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned the dual terror attacks which targeted the Iranian parliament and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, that left behind a number of dead and wounded.

'These two criminal attacks demonstrate the dreadfulness of the Takfiri terrorist ideology, through de-sanctifying a religious shrine and the headquarters of a legislative authority... aimed at destabilizing Iran and its civil peace, and attempting to provoke sectarian strife within the Iranian society and between Iran and the region,' a statement by the Foreign Ministry said.

The Lebanese foreign ministry urged the international community to unite, without any delay, around one utmost priority: to defeat terrorism, uproot its intellectual roots, and eradicate its intellectual and funding sources without selectivity.

It underlined Lebanon's full solidarity with Iran in the face of terrorist attacks, and expressed heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people, leadership and government on the victims of today's attacks.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the United Nations Security Council offered in separate statements their condolences to the Iranian Government and families of the people killed in the attacks in the country's capital, Tehran.

In a statement, spokesperson of the UN Secretary General said that “he strongly condemns the terrorist attacks,” and has called for those responsible for “this unjustifiable violence” to be brought to justice.
“All countries must work together in fighting terrorism while upholding the universal rights and values that bind the global community,” the spokesperson said.

In a separate statement, the UN Security Council, which called the attacks “barbaric” and “cowardly,” stressed the need to take measures to prevent and suppress the financing of terrorism, terrorist organizations and individual terrorists.

The council also called for the organizers, perpetrators and financiers to be brought to justice. The council statement, drafted by Japan on behalf of countries in the Asia-Pacific region and approved Wednesday by all 15 council members including the United States, denounced the 'reprehensible acts of terrorism.'

Iraqi President Fuad Masum in a message to the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani condemned terrorist attacks in Tehran.

President Massoum underlined Iraqis' solidarity with Iranians in confrontation against terrorism.

Massoum underlined that the attack was contradictory to all divine religions' thought and human morale.

Furthermore, the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, condemned the 'terrorist attack' that targeted parliamentarians and Iranian figures in Tehran on Wednesday.

The Movement said in a press statement that the Palestinian people always pray for security and stability in the Arab and Muslim nation, calling for uniting efforts to confront the nation's main enemy which is the Israeli occupation.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani in a message on his Tweeter acount condemned terrorist attacks in Tehran and asked all countries, particularly neighbors, to seriously fight terror groups and their hideouts.

'Afghan government strongly condemns terrorist attacks in Tehran and once again underlines the need for a joint fight against such scourge phenomenon,' he wrote.

Also, Afghanistan’s Chief Executive, Abdullah Abdullah, along with a number of parliament representatives and political parties strongly condemned recent terrorist attacks in Tehran.

Furthermore, Afghan deputy minister of foreign affairs Hekmat Khalil Karzai addressing a press conference, condemned terror attack in Iran.

Secretary General of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, Seyed Abdul Malik Houthi also condemned 'the criminal act' that took Place in Iranian Capital Tehran, expressing his deep condemnation of the criminal attacks that targeted the shrine of Imam Khomeini and the Parliament of Iran.

He extended condolences to the Families of martyrs and Muslim Iranian people and the Islamic revolution's Supreme Leader.

In the meantime, Yemeni Foreign Ministry based in Sana'a has also condemned the twin terrorist attacks on Tehran, and offered condolences to the Iranian nation over the unprecedented incidents.

In a statement, a senior official in the Yemeni foreign ministry said that targeting places of civilian gathering is against all religious morals, customs, humanitarian values and international charters.

He offered condolences to Iran and its people on behalf Yemeni people and wishing the wounded speedy recovery.

Bolivian President Juan Evo Morales Ayma in a message on Wednesday condemned terroristic attacks in Tehran.

He wrote on his twitter account that his country expresses solidarity with Iran over attacks on parliament and Mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini.

“We condemn violence against life,” he said.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has also extended his condolences to President Rouhani.

“We were deeply saddened and outraged by the news of casualties and injuries as a result of terror attacks in Tehran,” said President Aliyev in his letter.

“This bloody incident is yet another reminder that terrorism has become evil for the entire world and that it is important to resolutely and consistently fight it in all its manifestations,” noted the Azerbaijani president.

“On the occasion of this tragedy, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to you, families and loved ones of those who died and the whole people of Iran, and wish the injured the swiftest possible recovery. May Allah rest the souls of the dead in peace!” he added.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry condemned Wednesday what it described as 'heinous' attacks targeting Iran’s parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini.

At least 17 people were killed and 52 others wounded as gunmen opened fire at parliament and the shrine in the capital Tehran on Wednesday.

'We are saddened to learn that Iran Islamic Consultative Assembly and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran have come under terrorist attacks this morning and there are people who lost their lives or injured as a result of these attacks,' a statement read.

'We condemn these heinous attacks, wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and convey our condolences to the people of Iran, particularly to the relatives of those who lost their lives, as well as the Government of Iran, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,' it added.

The Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today spoke to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and condemned the terrorist attacks on institution of democracy and spirituality in Tehran.

India's External affairs ministry said that in a pre-scheduled telephone conversation, the minister offered sincere condolences on loss of innocent lives and expressed solidarity with the people and the government of Iran.

In Europe, Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders condemned the two attacks in Iran's Iranian capital.

He also said in the message sent to the Iranian government that his ministry is following the situation closely.

Paris also reacted to the terrorist attacks in Tehran and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and those who affected by the attacks.

In a Wednesday telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Emmanuel Macron extended condolences over the deaths of over a dozen Iranian citizens in the recent terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital.

President Macron voiced Paris’ preparedness to broaden its cooperation with Tehran in countering terrorism and in other areas of common interest.

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has also denounced the terror attacks on the Iranian parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's mausoleum in Tehran.

We extend our deep condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families, and the Iranian people,' Bishop said.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson sympathized with Iranians on Tehran terrorist attacks.

Johnson said in a tweet, 'Our sympathies go with the people of Iran following the despicable terrorist attack. It is time for the world to unite against this scourge.”

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in a messge to President Rouhani strongly denounced terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday.

He also expressed solidarity with the innocent victims of the two coordinated terror incidents and their families.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini expressed sympathy with her Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani and condemned the incident.

Czech Republic Foreign Ministry in its twitter account condemned Tehran terrorist attacks on Wednesday, and expressed its deep concern over the new wave of violence in the fasting month of Ramadan.

Georgian leaders also condemned the terror attacks in the Iranian capital of Tehran and express their deep sorrow to Iranian people. Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili posted on Twitter that Georgia stands with the Iranian people.

Meanwhile, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili also went to his Twitter to condemn 'brutal Tehran attacks”, and the country's Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze expressed solidarity to the people and the government of Iran.

Lithuanian Foreign Ministry condemned Tehran terrorist attacks on Wednesday.

In a twitter message, Lithuanian Foreign Ministry condemned the terrorist attacks in Tehran and offered condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of the attacks.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian strongly condemned terrorist attacks in Tehran.

'We condemn terrorist attacks against Majlis and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran and express solidarity with Iranians,'
Nalbandian said.

The political unrest in the region, including the Saudi-American aggression and its blockade on the Yemeni people contribute to create environment for terrorism in the region, and will reach all countries without exception.

Furthermore, Jordan condemned the terrorist attack that took place in Iran’s capital Tehran, killing over a dozen of people and injuring more people.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said Jordan condemns terrorism that targets civilians and seeks to destabilize countries and communities.

Momani, who is also the government’s spokesperson, extended condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Qatar's foreign ministry also condemned twin attacks Iran, saying it also took a 'firm stance' against violence and rejected criminal acts.

'The State of Qatar has condemned and denounced the two attacks which took place in Iranian capital Tehran and left many people killed and injured,' read the statement.

Qatar also expressed its condolences 'to the government and people of Iran'.

Two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomenini in southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning, killing 17 people and injuring 52 others.

One of the attackers blew up himself outside Imam Khomeini shrine.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.
