Jamal al-Khizri said in a statement on Saturday that the decision was made in a situation where humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip have deteriorated and millions are reliant on humanitarian assistance.
According to al-Khizri, stopping the aid to the UNRWA affects the daily lives and the educational and medical and humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.
In another part of his remarks on the United States' goal of stopping aid to UNRWA, he said, 'America wants to make the humanitarian situation in Palestine difficult and complicated in order to meet its political goals.'
The Palestinian activist added, 'The United States has already begun to reduce its aid, and now, with its full stopover, it is pursuing a dangerous approach, which is to neglect the issue of Palestinian refugees and oppose their return.'
Al-Khizri assessed the decision of the United States to continue with other measures of the country and the Zionist regime, such as the transfer of the US embassy to Quds, the continuation of settlements in Quds and the pressure on the Gaza Strip.
At the same time, the Palestinian activist emphasized that the Palestinian people are, in any circumstances, steadfast in their right to return to their homeland.
A spokesman for the US State Department said last Tuesday about the cause of the cessation of aid to UNRWA, that US president would re-examine the assistance to the Palestinians, because he had to be assured that these contributions were in the interest of American taxpayers.
