
Heather Nauert circumvented the question 'your position is that you are not violating the spirit of it by not encouraging European companies or other companies to do business with Iran?' by saying that there is 'ongoing conversations with many other countries to discuss this' and accused Iran of having 'destabilizing activities'.
Claiming that the JCPOA (in full, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) 'should be so much more comprehensive' because 'there are flaws' in it, she said, 'There’s a full Iran review policy that is still underway, so I don’t want to get ahead of what that review policy is going to be.'
She made the remarks while the IAEA and the US have twice confirmed Iran's commitment to the deal.
Answering the question if the Iranians are 'getting everything that they deserve, nothing less', she said, 'I’m not going to characterize it that way. I’m just going to say that the United States is in compliance with its end of the bargain. Okay?'
