During the meeting, Pasandideh hailed establishment of parliamentary friendship groups in the two countries and conveyed the warm greeting of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani to Gandini and invited him to visit Tehran.
He also expressed Majlis’ interest in boosting parliamentary cooperation with Uruguayan House of Representatives.
Gandini, for his part, hailed the two countries’ excellent ties and voiced his country’s readiness to host Iran’s parliamentary friendship group and use the two countries’ parliamentary capacities for strengthening collaboration in various fields.
Uruguay is one of the most democratic countries in Latin America and an old friend of Iran and their ties date back to 111 years ago.
