Al-Moallem's official visit to Iran is within the framework of the continuous coordination and consultations between Syria and Iran.

While in Tehran, the Syrian FM and the accompanying delegation will confer with senior Iranian officials on the latest developments in Syria and exchange views prior to Sochi meeting, slated to be held in attendance of Iranian, Russian and Turkish leaders in the Russian Black Sea resort town Sochi on Feb. 14.
