Syrian Army foils Daesh onslaught on eastern country

'Groups of ISIS [Daesh] terrorists launched over the past hours a fierce assault against points of the army units protecting the international highway in al-Shoula and Kabajib area,' Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

'The army units are now working on clearing the area of the fleeing ISIS [Daesh] terrorists to fully secure the highway.'

Daesh on Thursday announced that has cut al-Shoula and Kabajib road and captured two Russian and a Syrian military officer.
