Syria calls for end to killings by coalition forces

According to the letters, Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the bombardment of Al-Mayadin, in Deir ez-Zor Province, eastern Syria that led to the killing of 35 women and children as well as wounding scores of others early in May.

This aggression constitutes another violation of the Syrian national and territorial sovereignty by the illegitimate so-called international coalition under the pretext of fighting terrorism

The only outcome of the illegal activities by the coalition forces has been more promoting more chaos and devastation, the letter read.

The only parties benefiting from what the coalition forces are doing in Syria are the terrorist groups, particularly Deash (ISIS) and Al-Nusrah, it said.

“Operations conducted by the coalition forces are against the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the international laws and we strongly believe that the coalition remains to have a hostile nature and that it is allied with the parties seeking to slaughter innocent people in Syria,” the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in its letters.

Over the previous months, the coalition forces have confessed to killing of hundreds of innocent Syrian people citing baseless pretexts.

The coalition’s fighter jets bombarded a four-story residential building in Al-Mayadin leading to the total destruction of the building and the killing of 35 civilians mostly women and children.

Washington and few of its regional allies have formed a coalition known as the international coalition since August 2014 without any coordination with the Syrian government and out of the framework set by the UN.
