Speaker: Syria forefront of fight against Zionist regime

He made the remarks in a meeting with the his Syrian counterpart Hadiya Khalaf Abbas who is in the Iranian capital to attend the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) which is being held on Feb 21-22.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the conference.

Larijani said Syria’s independent position is one of the reasons behind creation of terrorist groups and war in that country.

Congratulating the victories made by the Syrian people in their fight against terrorist and Takfiri groups, Larijani said that the Syrian government and Army achievements are the results of Syrian people resistance against terrorists.

Meanwhile, the Syrian speaker conveyed warm greetings of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and that of the Syrian people and parliament to the Iranian Majlis speaker.

She hailed Iran’s supports for Syrian people noting that the reason behind terrorist attacks against Syria is Damascus' support for Palestine.

Syria will insist on its position till realization of the rights of the Palestinian people, said the Syrian parliament speaker.

The official called for development of Iran-Syria parliamentary relations, noting that the parliamentary ties can help boost all-out ties between the two countries.
