
In an interview on the eve of the World Day of Qods, Kambiz Sheikh-Hassani referred to the plights of the Palestinian nation and hailed the initiative by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in designation of the last Friday of fasting month of Ramadan.
He further noted that Beit ul-Moqaddas was the first Qibleh of Muslims which hosts Friday prayers each week despite the Israelis' hostilities.
Beit ul-Moqaddas was and will be the heart and capital of the independent Palestine, he said.
The senior diplomat said that the Palestinian nation are today paying the price for the ideal of establishment of a Jewish country which was put forward by the Jewish influential figures and European colonialists a century ago.
Sheikh-Hassani reaffirmed Iranian nation and government's firm support to the Palestinian nation, saying that rallies in support of the oppressed nation are held in 850 cities of the country.
Referring to recent developments in the Middle East and deploring the spread of violence and Takfiri extremism, the ambassador said that the evil phenomenon has diverted the attention of the global community, especially regional Muslim nations from the crisis in Palestine.
