Qasemi denies allegations lodged in Saudi’s statement against Iran

The unfounded allegations have been mentioned in the clause 15 of a joint statement issued at the end of the visit of the Saudi king to Malaysia on March 1st, Qasemi said.

In the statement, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia accused Iran of interfering in the “internal affairs of countries in the region.”

“These allegations are part of the purposeful and futile efforts” of the Saudi rulers which are made by spending huge sum of money, said the spokesman.

Refuting the imaginary allegations about Iran’s influence in regional countries, Qasemi said, “Cultural presence of a country roots from its history and culture as well as its ancient and rich civilization which is completely a normal and cultural phenomenon which is depended on people and is by no means achieved through military, economic or even political levers.”

The spokesman added, “As an influential and peace-seeking country, Iran’s principled policy is based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs of other countries relying on good-neighboring policy and cooperation with all its neighbors as well as regional and world countries to strengthen stability, security and peace as well as the relentless struggle in fight against terrorism”.

“There is no doubt that the unacceptable measure taken by the Malaysian government to get involved in such groundless and purposeful episode masterminded by the Zionist circles to target unity of the Muslim world, would not help improve bilateral relations,” said Qasemi.

Referring to the recent meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) hosted by Kuala Lumpur with Iran’s help to discuss the merciless carnage of the oppressed Muslims in Myanmar, Qasemi said that the conference was held to help “reach a consensus to solve one out of numerous problems of the Muslim world.”

Touching upon latest move by Malaysia along with the Saudi king, the spokesman regretted that Kuala Lumpur’s act will deviate the country from the path of solving problems of the Muslim world and enter Malaysia into the hazardous fields of plans which have targeted the whole Asia and Muslim world through strengthening terrorist Takfiri groups, mainly the Daesh, and wining spiritual and financial supports of certain countries in form of an economic cooperation.

Qasemi said that Iran advises all Islamic countries “to exercise more vigilance while analyzing regional and global developments and avoid getting involved in issues which are against affinity and peaceful coexistence between the two countries”.

The Malaysian government is expected “to act, like it did in the past, with complete vigilance and wisdom and review Iran’s foreign policy and, looking through a long-term and wider perspective, avoid getting involved in issues raised by suspicious circles to undermine the Islamic world,” Qasemi added.

He stressed Kuala Lumpur to maintain its status and avoid stepping on a divisive path.

Malaysia can help improve relations between Islamic countries, Qasemi stressed.
