Vladimir Putin is scheduled to travel to Tehran on September 7 to attend the trilateral summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey on Syria and issues in the region.
In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reporter on the role of Putin's impending travel to Tehran on Monday, on the sidelines of the 43nd meeting of the Executive Board of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in Tehran, Sergei Mikhailov said that every trip at any level can lead to increased interaction and dialogue among countries.
Mikhailov expressed confidence that the visit, in addition to its regional and international importance, would be another step towards strengthening Moscow's bilateral relations.
The Russian media official also spoke about the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and its impact on the world today, described the OANA summit as very useful and influential hosted by Tehran.
He believes that meetings with OANA media representatives and officials and greater awareness of each other will help to improve the level of relations, and such events are very important in this regard. Mikhailov also called this summit a forum for sharing common experiences and professional standards.
He added that holding such meetings on a larger scale could be an example for our politicians, because we are talking here independently of political views and should not pay attention to these issues in the field of news.
