Preserving Iraq' security, stability stressed

In the meeting, Iran's Iraj Masjedi and Iraq's Osama Abdul Aziz al-Nujaifi also underscored the importance of paying attention to the country's reconstruction.

The Iraqi vice president said it was important for Tehran and Baghdad to expand their relations based on the interests of the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

With the formation of the new government in Iraq, the country would be able to overcome challenges of state services, economy and security stability, al-Nujaifi said.

The Iranian envoy, for his part, outlined the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran to regional and international issues, saying that Tehran always supports the will of nations.

Pointing to Iran's good relationship with all Iraqi groups and people, Masjedi said as Iran stood by the government and nation of Iraq in the fight against terrorism, it will continue to do so during the reconstruction era.
He reiterated that Iran will put all its scientific and industrial achievements as well as technical and engineering services at the disposal of the Iraqi government and nation.
