Thanking his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif for his letter which was submitted to him by the Iranian envoy, Melescanu said his country as a member of the European Union would have positive cooperation with Europe to preserve the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The Romanian foreign minister said Bucharest holds a positive attitude towards continuation of cooperation with Iran.
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed Tehran- Bucharest cooperation, international issues and other matters of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on promotion of political, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
Holding the next meeting of Iran-Romania joint cooperation commission and following up the agreements reached between the two sides in various fields were other topics discussed by the two at the meeting.
