PM Zarif calls on Persian Gulf states to have dialogue

“Coercion is never the solution. Dialogue is imperative, especially during blessed Ramadan,” Zarif said in his twitter page on Monday, following certain Arab Persian Gulf countries announced that they had cut ties with Qatar, accusing the country of supporting terrorism.

Doha has rejected the accusations calling them baseless.

Zarif also discussed the latest developments in the region with his counterparts in Turkey, Indonesia, Iraq and Oman.

In the concerted action of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) plus Egypt against Qatar, followed by some other Arab states, they also closed transport links with the gas rich country which is highly dependent on imports to meet its needs.
