The local staff of the embassy and other Iranian organizations in Pakistan attended the ceremony with their families.
This was the first time that the embassy organized a special program in connection with the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) with the participation of Pakistani citizens.
The Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost on the occasion said that Iran and Pakistan are closely linked together through religion, culture and history.
He added that relationship between the two countries is moving forward and the new Iranian year will witness lots of visits by top Pakistani leadership to Iran.
He noted that countries in the world maintain relations keeping in view their own interests but this is not the case in Iran-Pakistan ties.
The envoy strongly believes that relationship between Iran and Pakistan is in the interest of the people of two neighboring states.
During the ceremony Iranian and Pakistani participants cited verses in Persian and Urdu languages in praise of Imam Ali (AS).
The Iranian Ambassador on the occasion also gave gifts to all Pakistani guests.
