
He made the remarks while reacting to the killing of nine Iranian border guards at southeastern zero border point on April 26 in an ambush by a group of terrorists who have fled to Pakistan’s territories after the attack.
Two more border guards were injured in the tragic incident.
Expressing condolences with the bereaved families of the victims of terrorist attack, Qasemi condemned carrying out trouble-making and terrorist operations by armed bandits and grouplets working as agents for the renowned supporters of terrorism and violence and Takfirism
Describing the incident as “unacceptable,” the spokesman said that Islamabad “should stand accountable for the presence and performance of those terrorists in its soil.”
He ironically said, “Those countries that take part in anti-terrorism coalitions should answer why they are not able to confront armed terrorist groups in their own soil.”
Pakistan has reportedly participated in a so-called coalition led by the Saudi regime against Yemen.
Qasemi stressed that Iran would pursue the issue of the border guards “through diplomatic and political channels and in the meantime it preserves the right to defend its territory against the outlawed groups.”
