Moldovan president hopes ties with Iran would improve

Dodon, a special guest of the inaugural ceremony of World Women Chess Competitions in Tehran, congratulated Iran on hosting the major event and expressed pleasure over FIDE’s approval of Iran’s hosting the competitions.

The inaugural ceremony of the World Women Chess Competitions was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Masoud Soltanifar, President Dodon, World Chess Federation (FIDE) President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Head of Iran Chess Federation Mehrdad Pahlavanzadeh late on Friday.

The competitions will officially start on Saturday with 63 chess masters from around the world participating in it.
