Minister: Iran expects UN to help voluntary repatriation of refugees

Rahmani Fazli made the remarks speaking to reporters after a meeting with the visiting United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.

He called on the United Nations to provide Iran with more assistance to offer further educational and health services to the refugees as long as they live in Iran.

The UN assistance to Iran for hosting a large number of refugees is not sufficient, he said.

In his visit to Iran, the UN high commissioner for refugees visited the Qom refugee camp and expressed satisfaction with Iran's services to refugees.

He said that Grandi has promised to provide more assistance to Iran for hosting refugees.
