Larijani sympathizes with Uzbek nation on death of President Karimov

In his message of condolence, Larijani also sympathized with Karimov's family and wished prosperity and success for the Uzbek people and government.

President Karimov, 78, died due to brain haemorrhage on Friday. Before his death, he had been in hospital for several days.

He declared Uzbekistan as an independent nation in 1991. Since then, he had been the president of that country.
