Kazakh pres. condolence on Ayat. Rafsanjani's departure

Nazarbayev said Kazakh nation will keep the memory of Hashemi, the director of rationality, creditable statesman and eternal figure who strived for the two countries' progress and mutual cooperation.

'It was sad to hear the death of Rafsanjani and I understand the heavy loss and express condolences to the Iranian nation on the sorrowful occasion,' he said.

Rafsanjani died at the age of 82 due to a cardiac arrest in Tajrish Martyrs Hospital on January 8.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei led prayers for body of the late Ayatollah.

He was laid to rest on Tuesday in the late Imam Khomeini's mausoleum in a ceremony attended by ocean of people.
