
The contract was sealed Tuesday by Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Mohammad Khoddadi and Chief of Sputink News Agency (Rossiya Segodnya) Dmitry Kiselyov.
Addressing the meeting, Khoddadi emphasized the importance of keeping pace with media developments in social networks, cyberspace and cell phones.
Due to developments in the world and the region, the main and independent media should play their roles in public awareness and circulate information in the world, he said.
Kiselyov pointed to IRNA as a prestigious news agency in Iran, and welcomed Khoddadi’s suggestion for regional synergies and overlap.
Due to the terrorist group Daesh moves in the region, media cooperation will be advantageous for public awareness, the Russian journalist said.
IRNA chief has been invited by TASS Russian News Agency Director General Sergei Mikhailov to participate in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which is slated to be held on Thursday.
