Iran's Supreme Leader warns of putting nuclear deal aside

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's remarks at a meeting with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his cabinet members on Wednesday were in reference to the landmark deal signed by Iran on one side and the world major powers on the other in 2015.

The US President Donald Trump on May 8 declared that Washington unilaterally pulled out of the deal, but the European signatories have vowed to cover the losses caused by the US withdrawal for Iran.

'It is fine to establish ties, continue negotiations with Europe; however, you should stop having hopes in them on the issues like the JCPOA or economic matters. You should strictly watch over the process of dealing with the matters, approaching their promises with wariness,' said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also called for endorsing solidarity among officials of the country and asserted: Today solidarity and unity of Iranian officials are needed more than ever. The heads of the different branches of power, as well as the officials working at various sectors must cooperate and support one another. In particular, everyone should help the administration, because it is the entity at the center.
