Afghan Official: Iran's NCC does its best to boost coop among ECO states

Iran is a civilized country and has attained many achievements in geomatics field, Ghulam Reza Samim said in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the 2nd Meeting of ECO Geomatics Committee held from August 27-28 in Tehran.

He also expressed hope for developing mutual cooperation in geomatics, mapping and photogrammetry fields.

Elaborating on the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) capacities for developing trade and regional cooperation, he said as its name implies ECO is trying to facilitate economic relations among regional countries.

The body seeks to develop relations in economic, scientific and research fields, he added.

He also expressed satisfaction with ECO activities saying it has so far been successful in all fields.

Elsewhere in his remarks Samim referred to the achievements made by Afghanistan in geomatics field.

The 2nd Meeting of ECO Geomatics Committee was held with the participation of the member states.

The first round of the event was held three years ago attended by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and ECO secretariat in Tehran.
