S.Korean Company declares readiness to generate electricity in Iran

During a visit to the company, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry and Managing Director of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIIPO) Sadeq Najafi said Iran is ready to offer land at one of Tehran's Industrial Parks so that the company can build a 100- megawatt solar power plant with its own capital.

Najafi is in Seoul for talks on expansion of cooperation between Iranian small and medium size businesses and South Korean startups and to participate in the 7th Small, Medium Size Businesses Forum.

According to a report by South Korean International Trade Union, the country exported more than 1.7 billion dollars worth of goods to Iran from January to June 2018.

Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korean annual exports to Iran in 2012 stood at around 6.2 billion dollars but the figure dropped to 4.4 billion dollars in 2013.

The report added that South Korea has imported 3.28 billion dollars worth of crude oil from Iran in the first six months of the year, showing a 18.5 percent decrease compared with the corresponding period last year.
