Iranian MP appointed as IPU Vice President

According to the public relations office of the Islamic Parliament Research Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran IPU which had been created years before the United Nations is regarded as one of the most important international bodies.

Having 173 member-states, IPU was established in a bid to promote peace and cooperation among nations through holding talks between world parliaments in 1889 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Jalali has become a member of IPU executive committee in 2015.

The 136th Assembly of the IPU was held with the attendance of 607 members of parliament from 126 countries on April 1-5 in Dhaka Bangladesh.
