Iranian actress calls Trump's decision on visa ban 'racist'

She wrote on her twitter account on Thursday, “Trump's visa ban for Ianians is racist. Whether this will include a cultural event or not, I won't attend the Academy Awards 2017 in protest.'

Iranian movie 'The Salesman' starring Alidousti has been nominated with four other movies to compete for the Oscar. The Iranian actress was supposed to attend the Oscar ceremony in February.

US President Donald Trump was expected to sign executive orders starting on Wednesday that include a temporary ban on most refugees and a suspension of visas for citizens of Syria and six other Middle
Eastern and African countries.

Another order will also block visas being issued to anyone from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

He was reportedly due to sign the order on Wednesday, but no news to that effect has so far been released on the issue.
