'Some people think that a short absence of an ambassador means the embassy has been closed, whereas an embassy consists of experts and specialists in several fields, including political, economic, and cultural ones,' said Bahram Qasemi in his weekly press conference.
He also said that normally the ambassador are chosen from among the most experienced diplomats, suggested to the country, and if accepted by the highest person in the government of the relevant country, the ambassador will be officially introduced to the president or monarch of the country.
He added that Iran's ambassador to China started his work, but because he was needed in Iran as the head of the Central Bank, he returned to work in his new position; and also, the previous ambassador in India was appointed to a new position in the Foreign Embassy.
Since the time Iran doesn't have an ambassador in Beijing several high-rank missions have visited China and vice-versa, which shows Iran and China have good relations, said Qasemi.
