Russia has recently increased its oil production by nearly 300,000 barrels per day (bpd) and has announced that the output will increase further next year.
Some section of the media have accused Moscow of taking over Iran's share in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
'We do not agree with some reports of media,' said Bahram Qasemi Iran's foreign ministry spokesman on Monday.
Saying that Iran and Russia have had good cooperation on energy, he said at his weekly press conference, 'The two sides' stances will be heard and the required cooperation will be done, but it cannot be interpreted that Russia's policy has been adopted against Iran and taking over its energy market share.'
The US President Donald Trump in May pulled out Washington from the landmark international nuclear deal with Iran, re-imposing economic sanctions. He has pressed the US allies to cut their oil purchase from Iran by November while covering potential oil supply shortage.
