Al-Hayali made the remarks in the Iran-Iraq defense and security coordination meeting, attended by Iran's ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi and the military attaché General Mostafa Moradian. It was held at Iran's embassy in Baghdad.
'Iran has backed Iraqi people and government in all crises,' he said.
Iraq trusts Iran's good will, and this has laid the ground for promotion of ties in all fields, the minister said.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Minister of Interior Qassem al-Araji described the bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq as exceptional and strong, adding that the two nations' ties are rooted in their shared borders and culture.
