In an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV network, Alaeddin Boroujerdi termed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's anti-Iran remarks as 'cheap and void of any value', calling on him to learn the language of diplomacy and not to speak based on the logic of an spying apparatus.
Boroujerdi was referring to Pompeo's previous position as the director of the Central Intelligence Organization (CIA).
Announcing his country's strategy in the face of Iran Monday, Pompeo threatened that if Iran did not heed to American demands the severest sanctions in history would be imposed on the country.
Boroujerdi said the presence of Iranian military advisors in Syria and Iraq was in response to the demands of the governments of those countries.
The Iranian MP warned that if the US wants to change the rules of the game it will meet with a proper response from Iran.
Terming Europe's stands on the issue as good Boroujerdi said they should be implemented in practice. He reiterated that Iran wants practical guarantees from Europe on their compliance with the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
