Iran, Iraq underline continued cooperation to fight terrorism

During their meeting late on Sunday, the two officials discussed regional and international developments and stressed the need for mutual cooperation in all fields, particularly fighting terrorism.

Both sides also called for keeping up consultations and mutual collaboration.

Jaberi Ansari also submitted an invitation letter from Iranian Parliament speaker Al Larijani to Al-Jabouri to take part in President Hassan Rouhani’s swearing-in ceremony on August 5.

Jaberi Ansari arrived in Baghdad on Saturday; he has so far held talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ebrahim Al-Jafari and President Fouad Masoum.

The second meeting of Iran-Iraq Joint Political Committee as well as meetings of legal, technical and border committees are to be held during Jaberi Ansari’s visit to the neighboring state.
