Iran committed to all int'l obligations: VP

“We hope other countries also remain to be committed to their obligations,” Hossein-Ali Amiri said Sunday during a meeting with Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen.

Some countries are still trying to create obstacles on the way of implementation of the nuclear deal, Amiri said, referring to the deal between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Sure enough, by breaking their commitments they are not going to work to the benefit of the international community, he said.

The Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs also called on the Hungarian government to help the JCPOA fully implemented.

“Iran expects the Hungarian government to use its leverage both in the country and the European Union to encourage all the parties to fully fulfill their JCPOA commitments,” Amiri said.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hungary enhance further all-out ties.

Budapest considers as very important its development of ties with Tehran, and the two countries by relying on their long history of cultural and political relations are expected to increase bilateral ties in economic and commercial spheres as well, Semjen said.

“The government of Hungary is Iran’s friend and the Islamic Republic can always count on its friendship,” he said.

Hungary has always been against imposition of sanctions against Iran and even before the signing of the nuclear deal Budapest was trying to maintain bilateral ties with Tehran and continue negotiations between the two nations, he said.

“This is the policy followed by Hungary in the European Union,” the Hungarian official added.

Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen, heading a delegation, arrived in Tehran Saturday evening.
