Iran calls for unity in Islamic World

President Rouhani made the remarks in an address to the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Rouhani called for huge public turn out in the International Quds Day rallies in support for the Palestinian people, adding, “If we want to curb Zionism in the region, we should forge unity in the Islamic world and settle differences.

Provoking differences would benefit Zionists, President said, adding that all Muslim and non-Muslim nations have honor for the International Quds Day rallies.

He referred to geopolitical importance of Palestine and noted that Palestine is respected by followers of all religions.

President Rouhani referred to Gaza besiege and the issue of Palestinian refugees, noting that it is for 70 years that the Palestinians suffer oppressive behavior of an apartheid regime.

The Palestinian issue is source of most of problems in the region, he said.

President noted that on many occasions, Zionists have a role in disagreements among regional states.

He pointed to global concern for spread of terrorism in the world and said that Zionists' support for terrorists is quite evident and they arm terrorists and heal their injuries.

President Rouhani referred to Saudi Arabia disagreement with Iran, Yemen and Qatar as well as the rift between Egypt and Turkey and noted that undoubtedly, disagreement among Islamic World countries is at the interest of global Zionism and occupying Zionist regime.

He called for settlement of disputes and problems in the region through dialogue.

Increase in terrorists’ activities in the region will benefit Zionists and will result in forgetting the Palestinian issue, the official added.

He voiced for liberation of Mosul in Iraq and noted that Iran would continue support for all nations that fight terrorism.

Iran will not permit terrorists to spread in the region or extend the war into Iran, President Rouhani noted.

The President pointed to Iran missile attack to terrorists’ headquarters in Syria Deir ez-Zor region and noted that terrorists should know that Iran will give decisive response to any attack.

Iran’s armed forces are authorized for more action against terrorists, he said.

President said that Iran’s missile power is for defense and Islamic Republic will not take permission from anybody in this regard.

The US new government should know that it can not pressure the Iranian nation with the senate and congress bills, he added.

The official advised the US government not to repeat the past mistakes, noting that Iran will give appropriate response to threats and pressures.

Iran will respond to unjustified interference of big powers in particular the US in the region, President added.
