
'Development of banking ties between Iran and Hungary will prepare the ground for fostering cooperation in other areas as well,' Mohammad Javad Zarif said during talks with István Jakab on Friday.
'The Islamic Republic of Iran has maintained good relations with Hungary in recent years,' Zarif said, adding that the two nations have a long history of bilateral ties.
For his part, Jakab, who is in the Iranian capital to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on August 5, also called for strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas.
Jakab said his country is willing to widen parliamentary and economic ties with Iran.
During the meeting, the two officials held talks on boosting relations in the fields of water management, energy and tourism.
