Iran: Bahraini suppression of peaceful demonstrations to exacerbate situation

Jaberi Ansari's comments come in reaction to closing of the offices of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society by Bahraini authorities in the country and preventing the Society from its peaceful activities.

Bahraini government's security approach to peaceful demonstrations by imprisonment of moderate political leaders and human rights activists and shutting down peaceful political and social offices will further exacerbate the crisis across Bahrain, Jaberi Ansari said.

He expressed hope that Manama government would take confidence-building measures to pave the way for serious peace talks and establishment of peace and stability in Bahrain.
