Iran, Armenia to cooperate on emergency situations

The meeting was held in Yerevan on Tuesday where Sajjadi called for mutual collaboration in the field of reducing risks from natural disasters and creating reliable infrastructures such as townships and roads in Armenia with the participation of private sector.

Tonoyan, for his part, welcomed proposals made by the Iranian diplomat saying that Yerevan considers no limits for boosting ties with Tehran.
He added that necessary grounds for promoting bilateral relations are included in memorandum of understanding signed between related bodies of the two countries.

The Armenian minister also welcomed the idea of cooperating with the Iranian Red Crescent Society as the first step and invited the entity’s chairman to visit Yerevan in the near future.

He also called for holding cooperation maneuvers with the Iranian Red Crescent Society in a bid to consolidate relations between his ministry and the society.

The official further urged exchanging of technical know-how and operational experience in the field of relief aid missions.
