IPU invites Larijani to attend Geneva meeting

'I am pleased to convey my heartfelt felicitation for re-election of Your Excellency as speaker of the new parliament,' Chungong said in his message.
Secretary General of the IPU said that the IPU expects strengthening ties between IPU and Majlis.
'We are confident that under your leadership Iranian parliament will continue with active participation in IPU activities.'
He said that IPU held 134th IPU Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia, under the topics of Youth participation in democracy process and hearing voice of youth in the process.
Chungong said that the IPU assembly will examine other important issues such as; fight against terrorism, protection of cultural heritage and responsibility and supervision of parliaments on these concerns.
'I repeat my best wishes for your success, expecting to see you in the 135th IPU assembly in Geneva on October 23-27, 2016.'
