Tehran-Astrakhan regular flight serves Iran's trade ties with Russia

TPO works to create the infrastructure for boosting trade ties, and to this end, it signed an agreement with Taban Airlines to launch regular flight between Tehran's International Imam Khimeini Airport and Astrakhan Airport, Afkhami-Rad said.

He said that the flight from Tehran to Astrakhan and vice versa will operate twice a week on Saturdays and Fridays.

Noting that a new chapter opened in Iran-Russia trade ties, the official said that after a decline in Moscow-Ankara trade following Turkey's shooting down of a Russian Su-24 fighter jet over Syria, the significance of Tehran-Moscow trade has doubled.

Afkhami Rad also noted that the flight between Tehran and Astrakhan can help Iran to attract further Russian tourists, calling on the Association of Tour Operators to make planning to seize this opportunity.
