First vice president officially welcomes Georgian PM

Kvirikashvili heading a delegation arrived in Tehran to hold talks with Iranian senior officials on promoting bilateral and regional relations.

During Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s meeting with his Georgian counterpart last week, Zarif pointed to Kvirikashvili’s tour to Tehran saying that Tbilisi talks are a major step in developing bilateral cooperation.

The volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Georgia had 50% growth in 2016 compared with the previous years and this growth continues, Zarif said.

Following up MoUs and agreements, reviewing new cooperation fields, holding joint economic meetings in banking, agriculture, water, construction, technology and developing tourism are among the topics to be discussed by Georgian PM in Tehran.
